Last Friday we decided to accompany Byron on a work trip to Tampa 4.5 hrs away. The main reason for the trip was to see his gma on the way home in Weeki Wachee. We left Thursday after school spent the night at an Embassy suites. Had an awesome breakfast the next morning of made to order omlettes, fresh fruit and waffles. The kids were in heaven. Of course none of us slept well having not arrived until 10pm thanks to Kenzies many potty stops...what should have taken us 4.5 hrs ended up taking 6 hrs! We went to the tampa aquarium friday am while byron went to his meeting. The aquarium was awesome except it only took 2 hrs to go thru and then I still had 2.5 hrs to watch the crabby and tired kids in the hotel room until Byron returned. They were litterally bouncing on the beds and throwing pillows, I having given up on containing them and cleaning up...there was no kids tv stations to even help! When Byron finally returned from his leisure lunch with friends we went to visit his gma Audrey who made us a great homemade spagetti dinner. Then we drove the 4 hrs home and again arrived at 10pm. Overall it was an eventful trip. I would highly recommend the aquarium in Tampa, it is rated top 5 best kids aqariums and during the summer they even have a water playground that the kids even loved in the cold with no water!
